HR Administration Officer (100%) 

(Based in Amsterdam, 1-year maternity cover)

The Human Resources Management (HRM) department in MSF-Netherlands consists of approximately 80 people working in the units Administration & Services, Office HR, Recruitment, Pool Management, Staff Health Unit and HR Support for country programmes.

The HR Administrator Officer will play a pivotal role in the HR Services and Case Management realm within MSF-Netherlands. The HR Officer will use their expert knowledge to take care absences and illness area within MSF-NL's HR team and the associated obligations towards authorities. The position holder will support the Case Manger, the HR Advisor team and other HR sections and employees, driving collaboration and ensuring the well-functioning of HQ HR support.

Mainresponsibilities

  • You use your knowledge and experience to take care of absence and leave domain and ensure clarity on the division of responsibilities between MSF-NL and the employee, according to policies.

  • You advice and support Case Manager and employees in absence and leave area, analyse impediments to the execution of the support you provide and use your creativity to overcome these, using and expanding your knowledge of the requirements of the various authorities involved. You coordinate with your counterparts from other MSF operational sections to this end.

  • You ensure correct administration of absence cases, relating to sickness, maternity and parental leave.

  • You keep yourself informed on changes in the applicable labor laws and regulations. You propose and implement policy changes in response to these changes.

  • You provide information and formal statements to external parties/ authorities, enabling working for MSF-NL, in the Netherlands or abroad, such as IND and UWV

  • You identify opportunities to improve and streamline processes, and offerproposals for changesin the IT systems.

Communication

  • With Case Manager and other HRM units on ongoing administrative and supportive activities to safeguard an accurate and complete processing thereof.
  • With administrators of other MSF sections to make sure information on employees and invoicing is accurate and up to date.
  • With employees and line managers.
  • With ARBO services, UWV and other agencies/providers in the administration and case management of long-term sickness cases.

Candidate profile

  • Educational background in human resources, labor law, business administration or related fields.

  • Demonstratable experience in human resources management/laborlaw/HR administration.

  • In depth knowledge on diverse laws (arbo, Wet Poortwachter).

  • Knowledge and openness to learn applicable labour law and regulations.

  • Experience in implementing HR systems, preferably Workday, is a valuable asset.

  • Ability to work under high pressure and under self-management.

  • Fluency in written and spokenDutch and English are required.

  • Strong skills in communication, dealing with complex. interpersonal dynamics, cross-cultural awareness, ability to keep matters in high confidentiality and discretion.

We offer  

A one-year Dutch employment contract, based on 40 hours per week. 

A gross monthly salary in scale 14 with a current salary range between 3,223and 4,437 euro depending on relevant work experience, based on a fulltime appointment.
