BACKGROUND
This is a local recruitment. Only Chinese nationals, individuals with residence status or the appropriate employment visa for China are eligible to apply. The remuneration and benefits package for this position is established regarding the local labor market and in line with the IUCN conditions of service for China.
JOB DESCRIPTION
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the guidance of the Country Coordinator (CC), IUCN China, with close collaboration with all technical and operational staff, the Programme Assistant will assist on the assigned IUCN China projects and support effective and timely planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of programmatic and other initiatives of IUCN China.

The main responsibilities are:
i. Overall support on planning, delivery and M&E of IUCN China projects
ii. Facilitate the development and management of other initiatives as well as project operations

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

-Support the CC and other programme staff to undertake the project cycle management, from planning, implementation to M&E, of the assigned IUCN China projects, especially those on protected areas and OECMs;

-Provide needed documentation, facilitation, tracking and bookkeeping support for the needed management processes, such as work plan development, budget schedule implementation and control, project progress tracking and reporting, project finance and administration;

-Implement project activities as appropriate and needed, including but not limited to field missions, desk research and analysis, technical documentation formulation, in order to achieve the expected results and outcomes;

-Contribute to the project concept and proposal development by performing desk research, undertaking interviews and consultations and organizing meetings and brainstorms etc;

-Support the development and implementation of project communications and outreach strategies and activities, including formulating news releases, posters, brochures and producing other communications materials and products, in order to enhance project profile and widen the impact at a larger scale;

-Assist in the communication and liaison with the donor, partners and stakeholders as appropriate and needed, for smooth project implementation, including organization of meetings, formulation of regular updates, development and circulation of documentation and communications etc.

-Facilitate the technical and logistical organization of events, in coordination of other IUCN China staff members;

-Undertake any other tasks as may be assigned by, and mutually agreed with the line manager.
