Overview
Under the guidance and close supervision of the line manager, this incumbent will address the overall project situation, and to provide advice to the GoB for the creation of an integrated national disease surveillance system and to set the stage for needed policy dialogues concerning the existing disease surveillance system.

Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide support to Team Lead to liaise with IEDCR and other relevant stakeholders like ICDDR, BSMMU; NTP, EPI, WHO etc. as well as with CDC officers in Bangladesh and Atlanta, USA.
- Help in conducting desk and literature review to understand the disease surveillance system currently operational in Bangladesh.
- Arrange meetings to do SWOT analysis of the current surveillance system to identify the bottlenecks and to prepare draft report on SWOT analysis.
- Organize National and regional level meetings, workshops, FGDs and other necessary tasks needs to be conducted by Jhpiego with IEDCR and other relevant disease surveillance partners throughout the duration of the project.
- Provide support in development of detailed work plan including a GANTT chart specific to this project.
- Support in preparing report on landscape mapping and workshop/s.
- Work with guidance from Team Lead, Surveillance and work in a team.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program's goals on safeguarding implementation.
- Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
- Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years work experience NGO health sector in similar role.
- MBBS completed from any reputed institute with valid BMDC registration.
- Having MPH degree will get added avantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good understanding and hands-on experience in surveillance related project activities & initiatives.
- Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, Power Point, Excel)
- Excellent public relations, communication, coordination and Networking skills.
- Recording, reporting & presentation skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and collaboratively as part of diverse teams
- Ability to manage a varied workload, work under pressure, priorities and meet deadlines
