Duties and Responsibilities
Duties may include, but are not limited to:      Supporting digital strategy implementation:  Assist in the development of engaging digital assets for UN Brazil (@onubrasil) social media accounts, including cards, videos and explainers.   Edit and produce short video content for social media and websites, including preparing and embedding subtitles in English and Portuguese.   Assist in development of digital campaigns covering UN priorities, such as climate change, human rights and information integrity, by drafting copies and helping organizing schedules.  Assist in research on emerging opportunities to increase UN Brazil’s digital presence and engagement on social media platforms.    Supporting events management and organization:  Assist in organizing events, press conferences, campaigns and public outreach activities.    Support outreach efforts with partners and the UN System in Brazil.   Assist in mapping potential partners and sponsors in media and civil society.  Support in updating and expanding existing mailing lists.  Support relationships with suppliers.    Daily responsibilities will depend on the needs of the Centre and will take into account current and evolving priorities and global/local events.    
Qualifications/special skills
(a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work. experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicate which one and attach proof to the application. Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the official languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
Additional Information
​The internship position is located at the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Rio de Janeiro, within the Information Centres Service, Strategic Communications Division, Department of Global Communications (DGC). The incumbent is under the direct supervision of the National Information Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to support UNIC Rio in its mission to disseminate up-to-date information about the United Nations to Brazilian audiences and provide opportunities for participation, dialogue, and engagement with UN’s work. UNIC Rio was established in 1947 as the first UN Information Centre in Latin America and the Caribbean. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
