The Pacific Community (SPC) is the principal scientific and technical organisation in the Pacific region, supporting development since 1947. We are an international development organisation owned and governed by our 27 country and territory members. In pursuit of sustainable development to benefit Pacific people, our organisation works across more than 20 sectors. We are known for our knowledge and innovation in such areas as fisheries science, education, public health surveillance, geoscience, and conservation of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture.

We are excited to offer unique internship opportunities for motivated and talented individuals looking to gain hands-on experience. These internship placements are designed to provide you with practical exposure while working alongside our team of experts.

The potential study areas are as follows:

• Marine Science
• Oceanography

• Human Resources
• Information and Communications Technology
• Finance
• General Administration
• Procurement
• Biology, Biochemistry and Agriculture for The Centre for Pacific Crops and Trees (CePaCT) laboratory

The key responsibilities:

• Assist with specific tasks or projects across various functions.
• Support the team in day-to-day operations, contributing to ongoing projects.
• Participate in meetings, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative activities.
• Assist and conduct research and analysis on relevant topics.

Key selection criteria

• Applicants must be either current students or recent graduates (undergraduate or postgraduate) within the past 12 months.
• Have strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced setting.

Salary, terms and conditions 

Duration:

• 6-month internship placement 

Allowance:

• FJD $20 to $40 per day
