HR Manager

 

The ICRC office in Poland is opening a full-time position for a HR Manager, based in Warsaw.

The International Committee of the Red Cross is an impartial, neutral, and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC also endeavors to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.

The ICRC regional office in Poland contributes to the ICRC’s response to the international armed conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine in the countries bordering Ukraine, Belorussia and Russia, helping reunite families separated by the conflict, supporting the work of the National Red Cross societies, working with national authorities, and strengthening respect for international law and humanitarian principles.

 

Purpose of the position:

The HR Manager is accountable for providing the full range of HR support services and advise to the Warsaw Regional Office staff and Management whom are located in Poland, Moldova, Hungary and Romania.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Supports the management in translating operational needs and challenges into local HR strategy and priorities.
  • Leads the implementation of ad-hoc HR projects and initiatives in all 4 countries covered, Poland, Moldova, Hungary and Romania.
  • Ensures Institutional HR strategies, priorities and policies are well communicated and explained to all staff.
  • Leads recruitment processes and guides hiring managers throughout the whole staffing process.
  • Supervise and validate payroll related documents prepared by the HR service providers for all 4 of the countries covered.
  • Monitor and follow up on the leave management of all staff in all 4 countries.
  • Creates and maintains internal communication channels and tools with staff on HR specific projects.
  • Advises and supports line manager in the execution of their people management accountabilities.
  • Coach and assist the HR service providers within the team on various HR related matters.
  • Draws up and monitors the annual HR budget.

 

Professional experience and education required:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in HR, Business Administration or Organization Development.
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years overall professional experience in the HR field.
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive leadership experience in HR positions.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of good HR practices and sound grasp of HR systems and databases.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law, HR administration, workforce and organizational planning, compensation and benefits, recruitment, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, staff health and safety and employee engagement.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel within and outside of the EU
