Job Summary: 

The Associate Office 365 & Web Developer will work as a Sharepoint, Web, and Office 365 developer to develop, enhance, test, support, debug, and maintain web software applications, services, and interfaces that support all MFO locations (offices, branches, units).   This includes Sharepoint Online and Microsoft Teams solutions using the latest Microsoft Office 365 and Power platform product family. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and modifies SharePoint Online sites and associated workflows based on defined requirements. Develops site content framework and SharePoint Online web parts. Trains end users and updates SharePoint Online tools and objects in response to evolving business needs as prioritized by the Senior Applications Service Manager.
  • Works as part of a team to identify and execute maintenance and upgrade activities for assigned SharePoint Online sites.  Works with offices, branches, and users on ensuring permissions are in line with business objectives and security requirements.
  • Develops solutions to urgent business problems, leveraging existing tools and services wherever possible, and building custom applications per agreed/defined requirements.
  • Completes assignments per defined schedules and commitments. 
  • Works on creating new interfaces for and supports current interfaces for SharePoint Online sites that provide information from various applications, (create or leverage APIs) wherever possible and required.
  • Performs duties while maintaining application security, SDLC, and change management best practices.  Coordinate with the ICT Security Specialist on all security-related considerations for new or modified applications.
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of technological alternatives and business system requirements to recommend innovations that enhance and streamline organizational processes.
  • Available outside of business hours for technical escalation of application-related, mission-essential technical incidents.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of web/mobile applications and web concepts, experience with service-oriented architecture, Test Driven Development, and Project/Time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Good knowledge of common troubleshooting techniques (OS permissions, SQL tracing, Application performance tracing, network packet analysis etc.).
  • Must have creative problem solving, customer focus, and strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Pay attention to detail. Meticulous about getting the solutions right with an aggressive approach in taking on work and solving problems in timely manner for our end users.
  • Must focus on the details of Service Delivery and stays in tune to the needs and expectations of end users.
  • Excellent knowledge of business process reengineering concepts with the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations with limited standardization.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Telecommunications Management, or related technical degree.
  • 4+ years relevant work experience developing and designing highly customized applications using Microsoft .Net and/or SharePoint technologies.
  • Experience with Office 365 and Power Platform application services framework.
  • Solutions using various tools including PowerApps, Power Automate, Visio Pro, SharePoint Designer, Workflow Manager, and Visual Studio.
  • SQL, PL/SQL skills and previous experience with Power BI is a plus.  Familiarity with the Microsoft Dataverse desired.
  • Familiarity with common web and application servers and related configurations: IIS (Preferred), Apache, and Tomcat.
  • Experience with Web part application and configuration, SharePoint Designer (for SharePoint Online), or online workflow development using Office 365 tools and resources.
  • Must be proficient in building usable and immersive/responsive user interface using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript Bootstrap and .Net Web APIs.
  • Proven experience working with one or more object-oriented programming languages. (.NET is Preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information in clear terms for non-technical staff.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills in English required.  Some knowledge of Spanish or Arabic a plus.
