It is a Home-Based Contract from any country within the Americas, reporting to the Regional Bureau for the Americas based in Panama.

General Background of Project or Assignment, Operational Context:
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, takes the lead in protecting people forced to flee wars and persecution around the world, providing life-saving aid including shelter, food, and water to ensure their basic safety, rights, and dignity. With 18,879 women and men working in 137 countries, we work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of 89.3 million forcibly displaced people worldwide.

UNHCR, in coordination with IOM, the International Organization for Migration, co-lead the Inter- Agency Coordination Platform for Refugees and Migrants from Venezuela (R4V) which brings together more than 248 organizations from across the Americas (including International and National NGOs, Civil Society, Faith Based Organizations, among others) that jointly with donor entities and international financial institutions provide a coherent and coordinated analysis, strategic planning, and response in the areas of emergency assistance, protection, and socio-economic, and cultural integration of refugees and migrants from Venezuela in affected countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Each year, content gathering missions take place in order to collect testimonies and b-roll for the purpose of creating social media content to increase the visibility of the situation faced by refugees and migrants in the region.

Purpose and Scope of Assignment:
Under the direct supervision of the Associate Communications Officer and the overall direction of the Head of the Inter-Agency Coordination Unit (R4V), the successful candidate will be responsible for developing audiovisual products such as video scripts, video edits, 2D animations, and GIFs. The content produced will follow R4V branding guidelines and inter-agency dynamics, which includes coordination with partners of the Regional R4V Platform.

Specific tasks include:
• Development of scripts in English and Spanish based on previously recorded audiovisual material of R4V operations across LAC.
• Editing videos for social media channels of no more than five minutes based on previously recorded audiovisual material, in various formats (1:1; 16:9) and including subtitles in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
• Production of basic 2D animations and GIFs.
• Development of podcasts episodes and audio stories, based on previously recorded audiovisual material.
• Other related duties that may be required.

Subject to a workplan to be discussed and agreed upon commencing the contract, the deliverables to be concluded during the four-month period include videos in ENG, ESP and PORT, including:
o RMRP 2025-2026: Summary video (x1),
o RMRP 2025-2026: Voices of refugees and migrants video (x1),
o Adjustments to pre-edited videos form the Chile 2023 content missions (x8),
o Videos from the Brazil 2023 content missions (x4),
o Videos from the Ecuador 2024 content missions (x18),
o Videos from the Ecuador 2024 content missions (x9),
o Updated explainer video on the work of the R4V Platform (x1), and,
o Short videos explaining the approach of each R4V thematic sector (x12).

Required qualifications, language(s) and work experience:
Preferable University studies in an accredited academic institution, preferably in Audiovisual Production, Audiovisual Communications, Video Production, Photography or Communications
Required/mandatory:
• Experience in video scripting and editing, and basic 2D animation.
• Familiarity with social media channels used by R4V: YouTube, X (Twitter), Instagram, Threads, and R4V institutional and campaign websites.
• Proficient in using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, Audition.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office products particularly including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent level of partner coordination, networking, and diplomacy skills.
Desirable:
• Previous experience with other organizations in the humanitarian context.

Minimum 2 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 1 year relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher.
