CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Training Coordinator to work in the Sustainable Agrifood Systems program.

 The positions will be based at CIMMYT headquarters in Texcoco, near Mexico City. Please note this is a strictly temporary position (5 months).

 Specific duties:

  • Plan, coordinate, execute and evaluate the strategy of specific courses working together with local course managers and coordinators offering andragogic recommendations for the continuous improvement of the training strategy.
  • Detect the training needs of agricultural advisors, farmers, decision-makers, and other agents of the agricultural innovation system.
  • Identify potential collaborators (universities, research institutions, private partners, etc.) for training activities.
  • Collect data and prepare reports on training events and integrate the information into reports for different donors.
  • Contribute to the documentation and systematization of capacity building processes.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the strategy for monitoring and evaluating training activities.
  • Contribute to the design and development of e-learning courses.
  • Coordinate the Certified Sustainable Agriculture Technician course at LATAM level.
  • The selected candidate must count with bachelor’s degree in education, administration, psychology, sociology, or equivalent technical degree.
  • The selected candidate must count with basic knowledge of protocols and administrative and/or operational procedures of the research support function.
  • The selected candidate must count with basic supervisory knowledge.
  • The selected candidate must count with Advanced level in MS Office, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Instructional design experience will represent an advantage.
  • The selected candidate must count with advanced level of English language (English test will be administered; candidate must score a minimum of C1 as per CEFR).
  • The selected candidate must exhibit the following competencies: Critical Thinking, Teamwork, Client Orientation, Problem Solving, Decision Making, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution.
