Context

This position will support the implementation of construction projects under the humanitarian response by providing Standard Quality Assurance Inspection and Monitoring services. With a focus on ensuring compliance with approved plans, the selected consultancy will conduct comprehensive final inspections on Bill of Quantity (BoQ) and construction plans to guarantee that all building components, materials, and workmanship meet or exceed minimum standards.

Task description

Under the supervision of the Programme Specialist - Nexus, The UN Volunteer will perform the following tasks:

Review and analyse the BoQ submitted by implementing partners.

Perform random field monitoring visits to the construction site in coordination with implementing partners and other relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with BoQ standards.

Submit reports of field visits to the Programme Manager and actively participate in progress review meetings organised by UNFPA with implementing partners and construction companies to provide proper guidance and ensure timely implementation as per approved BOQ and work plan

Participate in bid openings and bid analysis for the selection of construction companies on behalf of UNFPA.

Collaborate with implementing partners and the UNFPA programme team to analyse risks and identify mitigation options.

Review the submitted payments request documentation of the construction companies with coordination of implementing partners.
