Result of Service
The consultant's services will ultimately result in improved information dissemination and the development of key indicators for Trade and Biodiversity sustainability, enhancing online availability of cross-country comparable indicators on trade in biodiversity-based products. In addition, this contract assignment will help CARICOM countries to achieve the project outcomes, including the development of gender-disaggregated trade in services data and promoting gender-responsive trade policies. The contract will enhance the availability of quality data for evidence-based policymaking, fostering economic diversification and resilience in the CARICOM region.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief of statistical Methodology unit of the UNCTAD Statistics service the consultant will: o Ensure the TraBio is updated and operational, including the online database and visualization tool o Support the updating, operation and dissemination of TraBio as well as drafting and publishing of reports, pager, news items or others as required o Support the implementation of relevant recommendations related to TraBio under the framework of the informal working group (iWG) on trade and biodiversity statistics o Support UN Trade and Development Statistics and BioTrade initiative teams in the organisation and the preparation of materials and documents for the Informal Working Group on Trade and Biodiversity statistics. o Analyze project activities, outputs, and outcomes related to gender and trade indicators, including findings from CARICOM countries and other pilot studies. o Help contribute to a section of the Handbook of Statistics linking gender and trade data.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree, Master, in statistics, mathematics, economics, sociology or related field, is required. At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience at a national and international levels in the collection, compilation, analysis and dissemination of statistical data and development of gender and/or trade policy tools is required. Experience and/or training in project management is required. Expertise in statistical production software, such as SAS or R is desirable.
Languages
Fluency spoken and written in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable
