Tetra Tech International Development (International Development Jobs - Tetra Tech) is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for an Associate for Water Security, Sanitation and Hygiene (WSSH).

Position Description: Associates in Tetra Tech’s International Development Services Division support a portfolio of projects Tetra Tech implements around the world on behalf of its clients. They work on diverse and dynamic domestic and internationally based teams to apply their technical expertise in one of Tetra Tech’s core markets to support project management, new business development, and project delivery.

The Associate will join the WSSH sector and will work on both project implementation and new business development, primarily on USAID-funded projects. The position can be fully remote from a continental US-based location or hybrid within a commutable distance to either one of our office locations in Winooski, VT or Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities:

* Support project technical and financial management, frequently liaising with project teams and client representatives and assuming roles of Project Manager and Deputy Project Manager as assigned;

* Identify, pursue, strategize, and contribute to the preparation of proposals for WSSH, leading the development technical proposal and project deliverables and assuming the roles of Lead Technical Writer and Proposal Manager as needed;

* Assist in the identification of prospective clients and strategies to apply and share knowledge, including writing position papers and coordinating marketing efforts;

* Travel regularly to provide short-term technical assistance to WSSH projects, or provide management and training support to project staff (including startup and closeout);

* Contribute to projects and proposals within other Teta Tech technical sectors, including Environment and Natural Resources, Agriculture and Economic Development, etc.;

* Represent Tetra Tech to clients and partners in the US and abroad.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

* Minimum master’s degree in civil/environmental engineering, policy, environmental sciences or related field required;

* Minimum seven (7) years’ professional experience required, with strong client, supervisor, and peer recommendations;

* Minimum three (3) years’ experience in project management support and/or technical assistance programming in developing and transitioning countries or fragile contexts. While experience backstopping projects with intermittent overseas travel is acceptable, experience living and working overseas in a cross-cultural context is preferred;

* Demonstrated technical depth and qualifications in relevant technical areas including but not limited to WSSH;

* Strong knowledge of international donor projects required; USAID project management experience preferred;

* Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural teams - within the Home Office and based in project offices - with strong written, oral, and presentation skills;

* Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written deliverables, with prior successful experience writing complex technical proposals preferred;

* Fluency in English required; fluency in another language is preferred, especially French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic;

* This position requires frequent international travel (20% - 30%);

* Current U.S. work authorization is required at the time of application.

The anticipated pay band for this position is $90,000 to $126,000 annually.
