Organizational Setting

The FAO Coordination Office for the West Bank and Gaza Strip (WBGS) Programme implements the Country Programming Framework for Palestine to enhance the wellbeing of Palestinian people by making the agrifood system more efficient, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable in alignment with national policies and strategies and the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSCDF).

Reporting Lines

The Information Specialist will work under the overall supervision and guidance of the FAO WBSG Head of Office, the technical supervision of the Economist and the direct supervision of the Head of Programme.

Technical Focus

The position is designed to support the functions of the MEAL including data processing and analysis to inform and assess programme implementation. The overall assignment is envisaged to analyze project-generated data including PDMs, baselines and endlines as well as others. Additionally, the assignment is envisaged to contribute to Ad-hoc Analysis to provide evidence on impact, lessons learning and best practices.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Contributes to the M&E plan to monitor and evaluate the project progress in terms of results (outputs, outcomes), allowing to guide and improve the project implementation strategy and generates learning, while facilitating the involvement of different actors of the project.
• Assists in analysis and reporting on program implementation, including post-distribution monitoring, with a view to monitor progress, outputs and measure success relevant to the project.
• Contributes to the design and implementation of surveys.
• Performs analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.
• Contributes to M&E reports and any other relevant information.
• Performs any other duties as may be required.


CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING


Minimum Requirements

• Advanced University degree in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Social Sciences or related field. A bachelor’s degree with 2 years of additional experience may be considered as equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant experience in Monitoring, Evaluation and programming.
• Working knowledge (Level C) of English.

Technical/Functional Skills

• Extent and relevance of experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning in humanitarian, development and peace programmes/settings.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) findings into programming decision-making products.
• Ability to travel across the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
