The Resettlement Support Center Asia (RSC Asia), funded by the US State Department Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM), assists persons throughout Asia seeking permanent resettlement in the United States. Responsible for a portfolio of 37 countries, RSC Asia: prepares refugee applications for the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) using START (a State Department–managed data system that supports the arrival and resettlement of refugees through technology); provides information to resettlement agencies about arriving refugees and offers cultural orientation training to refugees bound for the United States. RSC Asia is based in Bangkok, Thailand, with a sub-office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Job Overview/Summary:

The Program Support Officer (PSO) based in Bangkok, Thailand is responsible for case and call list creation and distribution, The PSO will perform quality checks, ensure targets are met, and future circuit rides are planned in close coordination with the Program Support team. This position reports to the Program Support Manager.

Major Responsibilities:

Case Creation

  • Assist with monitoring RSC Asia Submission mailbox for all in-coming submissions and cross check against submissions received in START.
  • Ensure necessary supporting documentation for all case submissions are uploaded in START.
  • Complete case creation of refugee cases in START to be submitted and authorized for USRAP processing including expedite, P3 and Embassy referral cases.
  • Perform quality control (QC) procedures once case creations are completed in accordance with START Processing Guides.
  • Assist with call lists submission to relevant program and/or program support staff and stakeholders regarding applicant appointments in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all files and documents stored in the shared drive are regularly updated, accurately maintained, and easily accessible to authorized personnel.

Others:

  • Raise START processing related issues via the System Solution ticketing system.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Senior Program Support Manager.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • University Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Work Experience:

  • Minimum two years of office administrative experience. Data entry experience is strongly preferred.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Solid organization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize them effectively.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Proven skills in general office administration and interdepartmental communication.
  • Excellent decision making, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Power Point, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Previous experience with an international company or NGO or the US Refugee Admissions Program is preferred.

Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Thai, oral and written, is required.

Working Environment:

The position is located at the RSC office in Bangkok and is primarily office based.
