Result of Service
The individual contractor will support the Secretariat of the Minamata Convention, under the supervision of the Senior Programme Management Officer (Science and Technology), in the management, analysis and visualization of quantitative and qualitative data related to mercury monitoring data, emission and release data, in combination with other data such as mercury supply, demand and trade and control measures.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Senior Programme Management Officer, the individual contractor will perform the following tasks: A. Support to the development of mercury emission and release data summary - Analysis of data submitted to the OESG data repository - Analysis of mercury emission and release data available in the public domain - Visualization of available mercury emission and release data - Drafting of the emission and release data summary report - Development of a concept for interactive data management and visualization tool B. Support to the development of mercury monitoring data summary - Analysis of data submitted to the OESG data repository - Analysis of mercury monitoring data available in the public domain - Visualization of available mercury monitoring data - Drafting of the mercury monitoring data summary report - Development of a concept for interactive data management and visualization tool C. Other support to the Open-ended Scientific Group - Support to online meetings including note taking, document sharing and follow up. - Support to the drafting of data analysis report, including the communication with authors, commenting by OESG members and revisions responding to comments - Support to regular communication of the OESG members.
Qualifications/special skills
Academic Qualifications: An advanced university degree in data science, data analytics, applied mathematics, information management, data analytics, or related area. Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in data science, data analytics, applied mathematics, information management, data analytics, or related area. Experience in environmental data is an advantage.
Languages
Language: Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of other official United Nations languages is an advantage.
