Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Executive Secretary, in coordination with other staff of OES, including SDU, IU, CDC, the intern will contribute to the activities of the OES in the following areas: 1. Support the OES on monitoring and developing strategic partnerships. - Support the update of a short version of the partnership report for UNECE. - Research on key partners and donors of UNECE, including updates on policy priorities, recent funded initiatives, etc. - Preparation of draft concept notes, in collaboration with PMU and UNECE substantive Divisions. - Preparation and distribution of our weekly electronic newsletter to UNECE’s partners in English (using Mailchimp) - 2. Support the OES on communications and media - Daily media monitoring and dissemination of news about UNECE (all languages, all on-line media, use of Meltwater, Factiva and news searches on the web), disseminated daily to all staff - Preparation of monthly and ad-hoc reports on the press coverage about UNECE, distributed to management - Support to content management of the UNECE social media accounts - Photo coverage of meetings and events - Translation of press releases and news articles
Qualifications/special skills
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or (c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation. No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
Languages
Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Fluency in another official UN language is desirable, preferably French or Russian.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken, may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization. Successful candidates should discuss their specific visa requirements before accepting the internship offer.
