Overview

Jhpiego seeks a Quality Improvement (QI) technical optimizer for Gombe and Jigawa on The Global Fund funded, “Quality Improvement and Leadership and Management Strengthening through Technical Assistance”. The project aims to provide support to implement an innovative approach for integrated supportive supervision (ISS) that includes collaborative improvement, training, and supervision of supervisors to improve health worker performance and quality of care for integrated HIV/TB/Malaria/MNCH primary health care services for underserved population, as well as strengthen leadership and management skills among Ministry of Health staff for QI and improved integrated service delivery in health facilities and communities.

The QI program/MERL optimizer will support quality improvement and leadership and management activities in and will work closely with the QI Specialist to implement project activities, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and other government agencies.

 

We are recruiting to fill positions in Abuja, Ekiti, Gombe and Jigawa

Responsibilities

Program management Roles

  • Support Project team in preparation of activities, including scheduling meeting, creating attendance list, corresponding with attendees, preparing materials, setting up meeting rooms, taking meeting minutes, amongst other task
  • Support to maintain records and files, distributing of project information and documentation
  • Contribute to preparation of program reports, communications and presentations.
  • Ensure expense reports, payment schedules are properly prepared, scanned and shared with the project teams for review
  • Responsible for the collation, harmonization and regular updates of program management tools such as scorecard, stakeholders database, facility directory and other tools as maybe be requested.
  • Coordinate staff travel logistics and retirements.

MERL Roles

  • Collect data, review and ensure quality as related to QI activities and submit them to the MERL specialist
  • Support the monthly data validation, ensuring all data quality dimensions.
  • Support data entries on the service delivery registers in each health facility are correctly entered into the MSF and DHIS2.
  • Support research/assessment that will inform project learnings.
  • Participate in meetings and communicate with stakeholders to share progress and get feedback.
  • Document best practices, lessons learned, and success stories to share with the project team and stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or HND in social sciences, Public health, science, project management or related discipline
  • Strong familiarity with health system and HTM service delivery in Nigeria
  • Ability to interact with established networks of health professionals, ministry of health officials and other partners
  • Comfortable with a team approach to programming and the ability to manage several major activities simultaneously
  • Proficiency in word processing, Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel within state
