Position Title: Geography Teacher

 

Job Summary: SOS Hermann Gmeiner International School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Geography Teacher to join our dynamic staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Geography and Education, with the ability to engage and inspire students in the study of geographical concepts, maps, and global issues. The Geography Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive learning environment that encourages inquiry and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cover a range of geographical topics and skills.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess student learning through quizzes, exams, projects, and other forms of assessment.
  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes respect, curiosity, and collaboration among students.
  • Provide timely feedback to students and parents on academic progress and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography.
  • Teaching certification in Geography or a relevant subject area.
  • Proven experience teaching Geography at the middle and high school level.
  • Strong knowledge of geographical concepts, theories, and current events.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development and a commitment to student success.
