UNFPA focuses on empowering young people with critical life skills including the provision of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) information and services, ensuring universal access to high quality sexual and reproductive health and rights, and addressing gender discrimination and harmful practices such as gender biased sex selection and early, child and forced marriage. UNFPA leads in supporting the government in using demographic data to understand population dynamics, and to inform public policies and programmes, including those related to ageing. UNFPA champions the mainstreaming ofSRHRintocorporatepoliciesandpracticestoensurewomen'shealthand well-being in the workplace. As part of this initiative, UNFPA is organising a high-level roundtable event in Mumbai, India, to engage C-suite leaders from private sector companies across the Asia-Pacific region.

UNFPA India is issuing a formal Request for Quotation (RFQ) to solicit proposals to organise this high-level roundtable on its behalf to engage the private sector for commitments towards the Coalition of Reproductive Justice. This event will also focus on building acommunityofpracticewithprivatesectorpartnerswhoarewilling to champion sexual and reproductive health indicators through workplace policies, policy, and advocacy actions.

AboutTheCoalitionforReproductiveJustice

The Coalition for Reproductive Justice in Businessis an initiative led by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to improve the private sector's role in enabling Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in workplaces globally. The Coalition strives to drive SRHR in the private sector through the development of ESG metrics, advocacy & outreach and capacity building.

The objective of the Coalition is to advance and mainstream the women and girls' reproductive health agenda within the private sector. The Coalition aimstobuildamulti-stakeholderplatformtodefinemeasurableindicators that integrate sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals.

  • The UNFPA Coalition for Reproductive Justice in Business was established at the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly as an outcome of a series of events hosted by UNFPA in partnership with UN Foundation, UN Global Compact, Royal Philips and Overseas Development Institute.
  • The Coalition was launched during an event at the World EconomicForuminJanuary2023toexpandthe range of corporations and businesses that join and support the initiative.
  • The currentmembersincludetheUNGlobalCompact,UNFoundation,InternationalTradeCentre,Philips,, Essity, L’Oreal Fund for Women, Overseas Development Institute, Responsible Business Alliance, Gender Fair, Global Reporting Initiative, Global Fairness Initiative, Deloitte.
  • UNFPA and the Coalition members are coordinating their outreach efforts to rally new supporters to advocate for the mainstreaming of SRHR and gender equality in business.
