AIIB set up an Interim Operational Hub (the Hub), located in Abu Dhabi, UAE as the base for operational staff to travel to and interact with clients to develop and originate business and to monitor project implementation. 

The Bank is looking for a Head of Office for the Hub who will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and supervision of the administrative aspects of the Hub, including HR, IT, and administrative services.  The Head will also be AIIB's representative with the host government.

The position will report to the Vice President and Chief Administration Officer. The position will be based in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Senior Management in representing AIIB and articulating AIIB’s vision, mission and strategies to relevant stakeholders on behalf of the Hub;
  • Lead the planning and implementation for setting up the Hub, develop working arrangements and provide guidance on the Hub's day-to-day operations in support of AIIB’s goals and business plans;
  • Establish, develop, and maintain AIIB's relationship with the host government and other key host member stakeholders, including engaging them in dialogue, and supporting AIIB in the implementation of the Host Member Agreement;
  • Lead the implementation of the Host Member Agreement over the Hub;
  • Lead operations to provide staff with support in settling down in the Hub, including organizing and providing information on matters related to visas, medical services, housing, children’s education, partner employment, etc.;
  • Foster AIIB's Corporate Culture within the Hub;
  • Provide guidance on overall human resources support in the Hub;
  • Lead the planning and delivery of the Bank’s IT support to ensure the efficient operations and and delivery of administrative activities in the Hub;
  • Supervise the quality and effectiveness of corporate services, safety, business continuity, administrative support, records and information management, and corporate procurement in the Hub;
  • Facilitate and provide guidance to business delegations to the Hub; and
  • Any other assignments by the Vice President and Chief Administration Officer.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in administration, policy dialogue, project management and/or country programming, with at least 10 years experience in a managerial role in top-tier international financial institutions or organizations of similar scale and setting; 
  • Broad-based exposure to strategic planning and policy, and operations of multilateral development and financial institutions;
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, demonstrated experience in managing high-level negotiations with governments 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively liaise with Management, staff and senior government officials, as well as other stakeholders.
  • Effective leadership skills and ability to manage a diverse team; 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
  • Master’s degree in economics, finance, business, development studies, engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience.
