Overview

Jhpiego will lead stakeholder and community engagement to create awareness and ensure widespread uptake of the dapivirine ring (PrEP ring). The PrEP ring Stakeholder Engagement Meetings aim to gather key stakeholders from various sectors to introduce the PrEP ring. The project will allow stakeholders to contribute effectively to the process of the ring introduction.  Through the Human Centered Design approach (HCD), the project will collect end-user insights and develop and pre-test culturally acceptable education materials and delivery model prototypes that resonate with potential users. Furthermore, the grant will facilitate the creation of tools and materials intended for healthcare providers, enhancing their capacity to prescribe the ring effectively and educate end-users. The stakeholder and community mobilization consultant will lead the preparations, presentations, and facilitation of discussions and feedback sessions with stakeholders and the community. The consultant will collaborate with other consortium partners to prepare for healthcare workers' workshops and end-user engagements.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with MoH and NAHPA, prepare for the four stakeholders’ meetings
  • Conduct 4 one-day stakeholder engagement sessions
  • In collaboration with MoH and relevant stakeholders, prepare for four community engagement events/ sessions
  • Conduct 4 half a day community awareness and feedback engagement events/sessions
  • In collaboration with other partners to prepare for healthcare workers' workshops for training material adaptation and refinement
  • Support the preparation of the end-user insights collection and prototype testing. (identifying participants for FGD/interviews)

Required Qualifications

Deliverables

  • detailed reports on stakeholder engagement meetings/sessions

  • Report on the preparation of healthcare workers' workshop
  • Report on the preparation for end-user insights gathering and pretesting of prototypes

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health promotion, or nursing or social sciences
  • A deep understanding of HIV prevention and new product introduction
  • Proven experience leading stakeholder engagement and community mobilization
  • Skills in facilitating collaborative dialogues and processes with multi-sector stakeholders
  • Conversant with both English and Setswana
