POSITION SUMMARY

HIAS Greece seeks to recruit an Economic Inclusion Officer who will implement its Economic Inclusion programming based on HIAS guidelines and standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Develop partnerships or relations with the corporate sector, including companies and associations such as chambers of commerce and sector associations, to engage them in employing refugees and promoting HIAS.

  • Communicate regularly with private companies, in order to map their staffing needs and inform them about potential candidates for employment.
  • Conduct outreach to approach private companies and identify ways of cooperation and job placement agencies
  • Develop guidelines to inform employers about the process of hiring refugees
  • Participate in, and organize, events and activities (e.g., job fairs) with a focus on promoting HIAS’ employability program
  • Prepare a strategic plan for approaching businesses (methodological tool preparation, informative material, etc.)
  • Design and carry out the mentorship and coaching needed for new hires and companies – work closely with the HR departments to ensure good integration of refugees into the workforce
  • Develop HIAS's communication materials with a clear value proposition—this ideally should integrate the private sector's view for these consultations.
  • Liaise with employers to identify opportunities and skills required, as well as build cooperation between HIAS Greece and private companies

Career guidance and support in the hiring process

  • Support the development of CVs and identification of skills of refugees
  • Advice on how to increase their integration to employment
  • Prepare candidates for an employment interview
  • Job match refugees and asylum seekers with vacancies and opportunities.
  • Conduct trainings/ info sessions related to accessing the labor market
  • Identify skill gaps of asylum seekers and refugees and their training needs and supports them to access adequate training
  • Provide support and monitor the new hires during the first 3 months and support the integration in the new organization.
  • Facilitate information and referrals to job applicants to help comply with all administrative requirements
  • Analyze and understand current employment context and related opportunities
  • Perform any other duty as requested by the line manager and the management team

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • University Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related fields.
  • Minimum experience of 2 years, working in the livelihoods sector, preferably focused on vulnerable populations.
  • Good knowledge of HR processes, recruitment, and employment promotion.
  • Experience working with the private sector or Corporate Social Responsibility.
  • Experience in social protection and economic inclusion for vulnerable populations.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills required.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Responsible, Professional and with Integrity.
  • Ability to work with people from different cultural settings.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, especially refugees or asylum seekers.
  • Fluency in Greek and English (oral and written)
  • Knowledge of Computers, MS Office, Email, and the Internet.
