Mission and objectives

The IOM Regional Office (RO) for South America was created in July 2011 and is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Buenos Aires RO supports, through its different missions in the countries of the region, the efforts of governments in the development of their policies and other areas of migration issues in response to the needs of migrants. The Buenos Aires RO supports and guides the activities carried out by the IOM missions in the region.
