Organisational Context
The Occupational Health Unit is part of the Division of Management Services within the Registry of the International Criminal Court. It provides a comprehensive occupational health and welfare service for staff that ensures a healthy workplace environment for the Court in The Hague, as well as advice, assistance and support for ICC staff in field activities throughout the world.

 

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Head, Occupational Health Unit, the incumbent will be responsible for the following:

  • Conceptualize and ensure support systems for staff in the context of their work at the Court in The Hague as well as in the field;
  • Develop policy and operational proposals that address a wide range of diverse and sensitive work place and work-related issues in order to promote the well-being, effectiveness, and productivity of ICC staff;
  • Develop and conduct presentations and training on topics including stress management, secondary trauma, traumatic stress;
  • Identify a referral network and provide referral to therapists/counsellors, as related to the work of the Court and the well-being of staff;
  • Organise and maintain a filing system that will include confidential filing of individual cases and a documentation system of all actions, events, assessments, etc. in accordance with standards and procedures established by the Occupational Health and Safety Unit.
  • Liaise and collaborate with other units and sections as appropriate;
  • Maintain professional confidentiality at all times;
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Qualifications
Education:
Advanced university degree in psychology, clinical psychology, clinical social work or relevant social sciences. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience is accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

A valid Professional Board certification to practice at a national level is required.
Additional training in trauma intervention techniques and related mental health fields are required.

 

Experience:
A minimum of five years (seven years with a first-level university degree) of progressively responsible relevant experience in psychology, clinical psychology and/or clinical social work, of which at least three years in an international/multicultural context.

Knowledge of languages:
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, English or French is required. Working knowledge of the other is essential. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish) would be considered an asset.

- The selected candidate will be subject to a Personnel Security Clearance (PSC) process in accordance with ICC policy. The PSC process will include but will not be limited to, verification of the information provided in the personal history form and a criminal record check.
