ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Learning and Migration Program (LAMP) works with children at risk of distress seasonal migration by facilitating their access to seasonal hostels, quality education opportunities, while also training school teachers, and empowering communities on the Right to Education Act (2009). Technical partnerships with State Governments have provided the opportunity to replicate similar models across other migration affected states. Since its inception in 2004, LAMP has impacted 1.35 million children at risk of distress seasonal migration through access to quality education opportunities; and steered 5,238 villages across 17 States and Union Territories across India to eliminate obstacles to quality education.
KEY ROLES s RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Center Coordinator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of a learning center dedicated to providing quality education and holistic well-being to underprivileged children. You will leverage your extensive experience in managing educational centers and fostering a safe and nurturing environment for children.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Center Management:
- Oversee the overall operations of the assigned center, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning.
- Manage and maintain multiple Learning Resource Centers (LRCs) within the center, ensuring they are well-equipped and conducive to effective learning.
- Manage assets and consumables effectively, maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring proper utilization.
2. Child Development & Well-being:
- Implement strategies to create a safe, secure, and child-friendly environment that prioritizes well-being and protection.
- Foster positive discipline and a culture of respect within the center.
- Work closely with educators to ensure the holistic development of children, addressing their academic, social, and emotional needs.
3. Community Engagement & Enrollment:
- Develop and implement strategies for community mobilization to increase awareness about the program and encourage enrollment.
- Build strong and collaborative relationships with community leaders, parents, and stakeholders.
- Conduct outreach activities to ensure maximum participation from the target community.
4. Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive records of center activities, including attendance, progress reports, and resource utilization.
- Prepare regular reports to track the center's performance and impact.
REQUIRED KEY SKILLS, QUALIFICATION s EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in education, Social Work, Early Childhood Development, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in successfully managing an educational center catering to underprivileged children.
- Demonstrated experience in creating a safe and nurturing environment that prioritizes child protection and well-being.
- Proven ability to develop and implement positive discipline strategies.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Financial acumen and experience in managing center assets and consumables.
- Fluency in English and Hindi is a must.
OTHERS: Salary commensurate with experience.
