Founded in 2002, Digital Empowerment Foundation has been working to empower marginalised and unconnected communities living at the edge of information by enabling them with digital capacity, access and rights across the pillars of education and entertainment, livelihood and finance, health and agriculture, culture and heritage, with a special focus on digital rights for women and adolescents. With a 10000-strong cadre of digital foot soldiers across India, DEF has interventions in 2,000 locations in 135 districts across 24 states in India. Some of the acclaimed programs of DEF are Wireless for Communities, where rural women are trained as barefoot engineers who set up and maintain wireless infrastructure; SoochnaPreneur program, an award-winning model of rural information entrepreneurs; the Going Online as Leaders program, a mentorship program for rural women and the Digital Green Prakriya Program which aims to manage and raise awareness on electronic waste.
Job Title: Senior Creative Designer/Graphic Designer
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experiences Senior Graphic Designer to join our dynamic and creative team. As a Senior Graphic Designer, you will play a pivotal role in conceptualizing and executing design solutions that align with our brand identity and marketing objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Develop concepts, graphics and layouts, logos and website UI/UX design
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of brand guidelines, ensuring all designs adhere to brand consistency and standards
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and creative outcomes.
• Working with project managers, briefing and advising them with regard to design style, format, print production and timescales
• Preparing rough drafts of material based on an agreed brief
• Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements, if required
• Designing publications, books and other publication materials
Education Qualification/Required Skills & Experience:
• Graduate/Diploma in Graphic Design with 3-4 years of experience in NGO, Media & Advertisement agency
Or, Bachelor/Masters in fine art with 3-4 years of experience
• Experience and knowledge working in design software like Coral Draw, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Sound knowledge and skill working on PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
• Excellent knowledge of multiple designer platforms for website, newsletter, etc.
• Excellent IT skills, especially with design and photo-editing software
• Exceptional creativity and innovation
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• An understanding of the latest trends and their role within a commercial environment
• Professional approach to time, costs, and deadlines
