Junior Project Officer
Functional Setting:
The Junior Project Officer will work for the Return and Reintegration Facility (RRF). The RRF is an
initiative facilitating the continued development and implementation of cooperation amongst
and between Members States and countries of return within the area of return and
reintegration.
RRF being the successor of the ERRIN programme, it will ensure maximum continuity of
governance, organisation and available capacity, both to proceed with the ERRIN Heritage
activities and to advance and carry out innovative activities.
Underlying the RRF is solid knowledge management, which builds and maintains a strong
Monitoring and Evaluation strategy to capitalise on all practical and operational experience
gathered through implemented activities.
The Junior Project Officer will be responsible to follow the administrative daily tasks of the RRFfunded projects under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager.
He/she will liaise with the stakeholders for the planning and execution of activities, will identify
the risks and challenges that might arise throughout the project and inform the Project Officer and
the Project Manager about them along with suggestions for mitigating measures, including the
ones related with the budget execution. He/she will liaise with the relevant departments of the
ICMPD to assist with the contracting and procurement processes.
The RRF Project Team is composed of a Senior Project Manager, a Project Manager, and a pool of
Project Officers, and Junior Project Officers. The position is based Brussels and will require
international travelling.
Position-Specific Expertise:
▪ Knowledge and understanding of the return and reintegration agenda.
▪ Experience in supporting implementation of projects in an international context in the
field of migration.
▪ Capability to promote capacity-building measures in project design and implementation.
▪ Ability to integrate new approaches and innovations and ensure the cost-effective use of
project funds.
▪ Capability to operate in the development and the return and sustainable reintegration
areas of operation.
Position-Specific Qualifications and Language Skills:
▪ Master's Degree related to the area of work.
▪ Minimum of one year of experience in the supporting projects in the field of
migration at the international level.
▪ Experience from both development and return contexts is an asset.
▪ Proficiency in (verbal/written) English; proficiency in a major EU language, is an asset.
▪ Strong ability to manage conflicting priorities and working with tight deadlines.
