What we are looking for

NRC is looking for an INGO Forum Director to join the Myanmar mission. The role holder will be responsible for overall leadership, strategic direction, and facilitation of coordination between international members of the forum, the Steering Committee, and external stakeholders. The coordination entails ensuring effective information exchange and analysis, representation, and advocacy on common positions and agreed interests.

If you are an influential, interpersonal, and strategic leader, with extensive negotiation and problem-solving skills, who enjoys advocating and engaging with high level actors, facilitating information sharing, and influencing advocacy and coordination, then this is the role for you!

 

What you will do

  • INGO Forum Strategy development and implementation.
  • Joint advocacy initiatives leadership.
  • Partnerships, localisation, and capacity sharing support.
  • Representation of INGO Forum members at external meetings and fora.
  • Stakeholder relations.
  • Member engagement promotion, ensuring the Forum meets the members’ priority needs.
  • Financial resource management, including overseeing proposals, budgets, and reports.
  • Policy analysis on key issues affecting INGOs in Myanmar.
  • Risk mitigation measures.
  • Information sharing facilitation.

 

What you will bring

  • Senior management experience in a humanitarian/recovery/development context.
  • INGO management experience.
  • Policy change and practice influencing track record.
  • Advocating and engaging with high level actors experience.
  • Inter-agency coordination familiarity.
  • Global humanitarian and development coordination infrastructure and systems familiarity.
  • Donor and diplomatic missions representational and diplomatic experience.
  • Multiple donor grants/contracts involvement.
  • Resource mobilization strategies development and implementation.
  • Complex, and volatile context exposure.
  • English fluency, both written and verbal.

What we offer

  • Yangon, Myanmar duty station, subject to receiving appropriate documentation. Currently, international visas and work permits are subject to considerable delays. The successful candidate will be expected to work from home/remotely for extended periods of time.
  • 24-month contract duration (renewable, subjecting to funding, performance, and requirements).
  • Grade 10 in NRC’s Salary Scale, with accompanying terms and conditions. NRC offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
