The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is an operational arm of the United Nations that supports the successful implementation of its partners' peacebuilding, humanitarian, and development projects worldwide. UNOPS helps partners build a better future by providing services that increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of peace-building, humanitarian, and development projects. Mandated as a central resource of the United Nations, UNOPS provides sustainable project management, procurement, and infrastructure services to a wide range of governments, donors, and United Nations organizations. 

In response to the ongoing crisis in Yemen, UNOPS provides project management, human resource services, and implementation support for a wide range of projects on partners' behalf. With support from the World Bank, UNOPS is implementing two emergency projects: an integrated multi-sector project to restore and improve access to public social services in urban areas, including water and sanitation, solid waste management and electricity, and a solar energy project to provide improved access to electricity in rural and peri-urban areas of Yemen. UNOPS is further implementing initiatives under the UN Humanitarian Response Plan, aiming to enhance the capacity of communities to manage solid waste through procuring essential equipment and training. In addition, UNOPS is providing operational support to a number of UN partners in Yemen, with a focus on human resources and logistics.

The Security Associate works under the guidance and supervision of the Field Security Advisor within the office of the Country Manager and in close coordination with the Programme Managers and the office management team. S/he provides a comprehensive range of specialized and administrative support services for managing security and safety operations.  The Security Associate promotes a client-oriented approach consistent with UNOPS rules and regulations and UN Security Management System policies.  S/he is responsible for promptly resolving security-related issues and exchanging information
