Your mission

Overview of the position:
Hours: full-time (39 hours) or part-time 
Start date: as soon as possible
Duration: 2-year fixed-term contract 
Location: Berlin, Germany
Department & reporting line: Finance & Administration / Head of Unit Finance Management
  

  • Collaboration with project teams in drawing up budgets compliant to donor regulations
  • Monitoring project budgets, expenditures, and financial performance 
  • Generating timely and accurate financial reports for stakeholders.
  • Cooperation with project managers and other stakeholders to align financial activities with project goals 
  • Identification, assessment and mitigation of financial and operational risks associated with the projects
  • Contract management with project partners and service providers in Germany and abroad
  • Invoice verification and payment approvals
  • Preparation and cross-checking of partner statements and international travel expense reports
  • Supporting tasks related to the annual financial statements

Your knowledge, experience & skills

  • Successfully completed university degree or commercial training with a strong focus on finance
  • Ideally experience in financial management of international projects
  • very good Excel skills
  • Ideally DATEV knowledge
  • Good written and spoken English and German language skills
  • Ideally experience with donor guidelines, e.g. Foreign Office, EU, Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or others
  • Knowledge of public procurement law and funding law desirable
