Mission and objectives

Prison Insider est une plateforme digitale dédiée aux conditions d’incarcération des prisonniers ordinaires dans le monde (date de mise en ligne: avril 2016). Prison Insider a pour objet de promouvoir la dignité et les droits fondamentaux des personnes emprisonnées dans le monde. Il fait connaître les conditions de détention en mobilisant, pays par pays, un réseau de correspondants. Il valorise les bonnes pratiques par comparaison et favorise le témoignage, l’échange et l’accès au droit. L ’ H I S T O I R E L’Observatoire international des prisons, créé en 1990 à Lyon (France) à l’initiative de Bernard Bolze a, de 1993 à 1998, publié six rapports annuels faisant état des conditions de détention des personnes incarcérées dans un grand nombre de pays dans le monde. Des difficultés financières ont eu raison de l’existence de ces travaux qui ont pourtant montré leur utilité et qu’il convient de reprendre, amplifiés par l’outil Internet. Prison Insider doit permettre à chacun, dans une langue accessible, de s’informer, de comparer et d’échanger précisément sur la situation faites aux personnes emprisonnées, ici et ailleurs. Les exigences de la vie démocratique imposent, en tout lieu, le respect des droits fondamentaux de chacun.

Context

Prison Insider's goal is to raise awareness about the detention conditions of those in prison and advocate for their dignity and fundamental rights. This interview will allow our platform to inform about the situation of incarcerated lawyers in Turkey.

Task description

Prison Insider is looking for two online volunteers to translate and proofread a short interview (around 1,000 words) related to the arbitrary detention of lawyers in Turkey. We will receive the final version of the interview within the next two weeks. Once we receive the document, we'll send it via e-mail to the volunteer who will assist us with the translation. When this process is completed, we'll send the translation for proofreading to the second volunteer.
