ABOUT THE ROLE  

We are recruiting a Membership Accreditation and Safeguarding Manager who will be directly responsible for overseeing the accreditation of member organisations and advancement of safeguarding standards in the Common Goal Community. The role will require an experienced expert in organisational accreditation and safeguarding with the ability to manage complex processes and the input of a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders. They will also be expected to engage with content and to identify the need to bring in specific expertise to increase the quality of the Community of member organisations.  

The Membership Accreditation and Safeguarding Manager will be part of the Community team and report directly to the Head of Community. They should have the ability to foster collaboration and teamwork, productively work with others and conduct themselves with the highest level of collegiality. They are expected to take leadership in their area of work and to continuously improve processes and procedures. The position is based in our Berlin office.   

 

YOUR TASKS 

  • Improve Common Goal’s membership accreditation procedures for organisations and manage all aspects of the accreditation process, in coordination with relevant committees 

  • Develop, implement, and improve the necessary technology tools and data management approaches to accurately, transparently and fairly assess members’ suitability for accreditation 

  • Identify needs and trends based on organisational assessments for capacity building initiatives for Community member organisations and provide advice and guidance to members, as well as to colleagues within Common Goal, on membership issues 

  • Strengthen Common Goal’s safeguarding approach, in collaboration with the Safeguarding Committee, by: 

  • Monitoring safeguarding standards, policies and procedures in the Community  

  • Facilitating capacity development on safeguarding processes for member organisations with internal and external experts 

  • Overseeing case management of cases that arise in the Community  

 

YOUR PROFILE 

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in membership accreditation/ organisational assessment positions, with proven experience in organisational governance, ethics and safeguarding 

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders for compliance, data submission, reporting and dissemination 

  • Excellent writing, communications and data management skills and attention to detail 

  • Experience with implementing technology solutions in organisational assessment and comfortable with Excel for data analysis 

  • Degree in a related field of studies, or equivalent experience 

  • Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages, especially Spanish, is an additional asset 

  • Resilient problem solver, that takes responsibility for the work, thrives on transparency and accountability, and can work independently 

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask
