The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and, at the same time, promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

Purpose

Unreal Engine 5 Game Developer's responsibilities are to support the Virtual Reality Unit (Belgrade and Bangkok) in the creation of computer-generated audio-visual tools for internal and external training and education purposes. He/she will be required to work in a multidisciplinary and international internal team as well as external partners and contractors.

Accountabilities & Functional responsibilities

  • Work with 3D artists/animators to design Unreal Engine 5 projects.
  • Design complex gameplay mechanisms in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Work with 3D artists to design realistic maps and levels in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Integrate plugins into Unreal Engine 5.
  • Assist in designing 3D assets/characters and their integration into Unreal Engine 5.
  • Cooperate with programmers, 3D artists and animator in Thailand and abroad on various humanitarian projects.
  • Reports to the Head of Virtual Reality Training Tools unit.
  • Deliver high quality work on schedule.

Relationships

  • Internally, interacts with audiovisual producers and clients across the organization.
  • Externally, interacts with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, armed forces representatives, consultants and contractors.

Professional Experience required/ Certifications / Education required

 

  • University degree or equivalent in information technology/programming.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the gaming industry including 2 years’ experience with Unreal Engine 4.
  • Knowledge of motion capture as an asset.
  • Good command of English.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong history of continuous education and proven drive to increase skill set.
  • Well organized, able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize, capacity to work under pressure.
