MI has been registered in Türkiye since 2014 and has since built up its own office structure. MI now has two offices in southeastern Türkiye (Kilis and Gaziantep). The Malteser InternationaI team provides technical guidance and oversees management and administration of the partner-implemented projects in Türkiye and Northern Syria. MI is responsible for the procurement of the main medical supplies in Türkiye, the reporting and application as well as the quality assurance. In addition to the implementation of humanitarian and transitional aid projects, Malteser International´s strategic objective is the strengthening of the civil society structures in Türkiye and Syria. Malteser International focuses in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye on the sectors of health, livelihood, protection as well as social cohesion.

For its work in Northwestern Syria and Türkiye, Malteser International is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Assistant - National Position. 

As you will be part of the Finance and Admin Department, you will support the efficient and accurate execution of financial operations within our Türkiye office for Malteser International’s projects in North-western Syria and Türkiye.

Your responsibilities:

  • Assist in recording, tracking, and reporting financial transactions, expenses, and vouchers. Maintain detailed records and prepare timely reports for stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely payments of bills, taxes, rents, and cash withdrawals with accurate documentation, adhering to authorized budgets and schedules.
  • Scan and archive expenditure documents, and securely transmit them to the accountant monthly.
  • Analyze financial reports from MI-funded partners, verifying if expenses align with program goals and budgets, and track spending forecasts.
  • Assist in verifying financial and legal documents for MI offices and projects, ensuring adherence to internal policies and Turkish regulations.

Your profile:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Arabic is plus 
  • A strong working knowledge of MS Office is needed, especially MS Excel.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting and financial work in a similar sized organization.
  • Proven ability to manage resources and deadlines with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrates initiative with good communication and interpersonal skills.
