About Eka – The Communicators’ Collective:
Eka is a registered non-profit trust working in the area of Community Development and Development Communication, with a range of groups and communities in diverse setting. Our offices are based in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. In urban Bhopal, we work with households from marginalized backgrounds on issues related to access to justice, child rights, gender, women’s empowerment, livelihoods and youth engagement. Our Development Communication initiative has a focus on Design & Development of Communication Resources, Participatory Theatre, Research and Documentation, Capacity Building. Samvidhan Live, our communication initiative seeks to document people’s movements and processes, along with a focus on building awareness about Constitutional Rights. Eka currently has openings for the position of Field Coordinator (BHOPAL) for its Access to Justice Program.

Job Description
Field Coordinator

1. Job Title: Field Coordinator (Full time – Contractual with 2 month probation, subject to review)
2. Location: Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
3. Remuneration: 20000/- + Local Conveyance
4. Qualification and skills:
• Graduate or Post Graduate in Law, Social Sciences, Communication, Journalism or related field
• Experience of at least 3-4 years in working in urban settings with marginalized groups and communities and government departments.
• Experience of working with diverse team of facilitators, grassroots workers, lawyers, programmers and creative persons.
• Good understanding of community engagement processes
• Excellent communication skills including reading, writing and articulation
• Excellent language skills in any one language – Hindi or English
• Experience of engaging with community collectives, elected representatives, local influencers, municipal corporations, institutions and networks.
5. Job Overview:
• Management & Coordination of allotted Zone area and Ward level work with organization team, youth collectives, departments and elected representatives.
• Work with a focus on Access to Justice, Constitutional Rights, Youth Engagement and Women’s Empowerment.
• Engage with Organization Team in processes related to Capacity Building, Research, and Documentation, developing Communication Campaigns and organizing camps.
• Support Module development, facilitation and documentation roles.
• Key skills includes Facilitating group discussions, workshops and meetings
• Working together with the youth leadership in the organization. Ability to jointly facilitate community development processes
• Ability to respond to key issues emerging from communities with participation of local leaderships
• Ensure implementation of core community development activities in the allotted Zone area and Wards
• Engage with networks and participate in advocacy initiatives at the City level
• Participate in organization meetings and processes as and when required.
• Be accountable for allotted Zone area accounts, data and documentation
6. Core Skills Expected:
• Impactful listening, writing and speaking skills.
• Demonstrable understanding of Constitutional values, local issues which concern Socio-Economic, Cultural as well as Civil Rights
• Excellent Communication and management skills.
• Demonstrable skills to understand and use Social Media platforms.
