CTG is looking for a qualified Wide Area Network (WAN) Technician for our operations. This role is being advertised for talent pool building purposes, once the project goes live, only those candidates that are shortlisted will be contacted.
Role objectivesThis resource would be required to test, install & maintain the client's data network in the area of operation. Design & implementation of a complete wide / metropolitan area network in various regions / offices & administration of network once installed. The network would include but not limited to the following equipment:
Experience in Cisco L2 & L3 LAN switching, ACLs, QoS & network segmentation.
Design of IP addressing scheme, subnetting & route summarization & experience in routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF & BGP.
Administration of Cisco ISE, TACACS configuration.
Installation & configuration of catalyst wireless LAN controllers, mobility express & wireless access points.
Familiar with configuration & operation of next generation firewalls like Checkpoint, Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, etc.
Ability to manage web content gateway & filtering applications / appliances.
Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS & DHCP.
Preferably certified in both CCNA & CCDA, CCNP certification is added advantage.
This role reports to the line manager.
Key competenciesThe technician should have a working knowledge of intra & internetworking concepts in so far as it applies to & data communications.
Experience with CISCO networking equipment & applicable CISCO & other IT industry certifications.
Must have a national drivers licence for a light motor vehicle.
Fluency in English, both written & oral, is required.
This role has no team management responsibility.
