Headquartered in Geneva, GAVI - Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization is an international organization but also a public private partnership. WHO and UNICEF are their primary go to partners: they get the vaccines procured through UNICEF, and WHO is there on the ground. This means that GAVI does not necessarily have country offices in the field. They have one office in Geneva where most of their staff are and a smaller office in Washington DC.

GAVI’s main mission and bottom line is to save children's lives and millions of them. And when you improve children's life you also improve the lives of the parents who take care of them and their entire communities around them as no one has to take care of sick children and all this through the equitable use of vaccines.

GAVI’s job is to get themselves out of a job, a catalyst whereby the the Ministry of Health and finance take over full ownership of the funding of vaccines. One of GAVI’s core values is being country driven and thus, working alongside the Ministries of Health and finance to make sure that they're prioritizing immunization programs.

One of the biggest reasons people join GAVI is impact. It's rare to be part of organization where just about 400 people work and where you can say you're making significant impact on global health (helped to immunize just about half of the world's children population).

In the video recording below, GAVI’s HR representative Armelle Sarda will present GAVI, their mission and impact, demographic data, but also finishes with some tips and tricks for anyone aspiring to work with them such as their Organizational Chart and and the importance of terminologies.
