The MHPSS National Manager supports the PSW Team Leaders, PSWs and Community Support Officer to facilitate Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Psychological First Aid for Children trainings, Community Based Psychosocial Support, Peer Group Activities and the referral component of mental health case management. The MHPSS National Manager should ensure these activities are designed, implemented and monitored in accordance with the IASC Guidelines for MHPSS in Emergencies and are consistent with IMC’s approach to MHPSS. The MHPSS National Manager supervises the Community Support Officer, MHPSS Programme Officer and MHPSS Programme Support Officer. The MHPSS National Manager works closely with the National Psychiatrist Managers, National Psychiatrist, PSW Team Leaders and Psychosocial Workers.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:¨ Update the service mapping documents and share the results with the PSW Team Leaders, National Psychiatrists and the PMDOs.

¨ Conduct context analysis in collaboration with the National Psychiatrist Manager, on the situation for Syrians with mental health conditions, in terms of access to services, their rights and referral pathways related to mental health case management.

¨ Support PSW Team Leaders, PSWs and Community Support Officer (if applicable) to implement PFA and PFA for Children trainings. Co-facilitate trainings and supervise new PFA trainers.

¨ Ensure Community Based Psychosocial Support (Community Based Activities) and peer group activities adhere to IMC’s approach to MHPSS in Emergencies and the IASC Guidelines for MHPSS in Emergencies.

¨ Responsible for programme reporting, management of donor files, creating work plans, budgets, spending/ procurement plans and monitoring activities

¨ Review weekly, monthly and donor reports. Work with the MHPSS M&E Officer where necessary.

¨ Oversee MHPSS assessments for new program areas

¨ Identify and recruit new staff members

¨ Support the deployment of Mobile PFA teams

¨ Facilitate meetings with PSW Team Leaders to discuss PFA and PFA for Children trainings, Community Based Activities, Service Mapping for Case Management and Peer Group Activities

¨ Facilitate meetings with the Community Support Officer, MHPSS Programme Officer and MHPSS Programme Support Officer

¨ Facilitate and manage community partnerships

¨ Ensure coordination with other NGOs, INGOs, government officials and relevant clusters/coordination groups

¨ Any other tasks or duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Knowledge and Experience:¨ Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English.

¨ Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

¨ Experience as a Psychological First Aid Trainer

¨ Knowledge of IASC Guidelines for MHPSS in Emergencies

¨ Knowledge of community based psychosocial support

¨ Experience with case management, specifically service mapping and referrals

¨ Knowledge of peer group activity facilitation

¨ Experience in project management

¨ Ability to work independently and responsibly.

¨ Syrian National.
