Job Description

Designation/Position: Field Coordinator

Organisation: AIACA

Reporting Manager: Functionally and administratively to Project Manager

Qualification: MSW or PG diploma in social work. Candidates having any certificate/diploma in handloom /handicraft management will be preferred.

Year of experience: 3-5 years’ experience of coordinating multiple projects/clusters in a development organization.

Employment Status (Permanent /FTE/part time/ contractual): Fixed Term Employment

Period of Contract: 1 year

Job Location: Assam

Salary/CTC Range: 30,000/- per month

About the Organization:

AIACA is an apex body that has been working on a range of issues, since 2004, to promote market-led growth for the crafts sector; and increased incomes and improved living standards of crafts producers. Over the past decade, AIACA has conducted policy research and advocacy on a range of issues including access to credit for crafts producers and environmental and health and safety standards for the sector; developed a crafts-certification system called the Craftmark; assisted sales and outreach of member producer groups and enterprises through commercial trade catalogues, trade fairs and order fulfillment; and assisted in developing and strengthening back-end production systems through a range of product design and business development services. We have worked with more than 150,000 artisans across 23 states in India.

JOB SUMMARY / ROLE:

A field coordinator is responsible for overseeing operations of different clusters at AIACA sites locations. He/She should have sound knowledge of handicraft and handloom products, techniques, tools, equipment’s and methods used in the craft sector. Should be capable of conducting capacity building of craft workers for desired output. He/she will liaison with the stakeholders, govt deptt./ local body as per the requirement. Should be well versed with central govt and state govt livelihood schemes/projects/programs.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role of Field Coordinator at AIACA will entail the following responsibilities:

A. Planning
• Need Assessment of weavers, women and youth with respect to program objectives.
• Formulation of daily, weekly, fortnightly and Monthly plan of action for implementation of project activities within stipulated time frame in a quality manner.
• To plan different community oriented events and activities in relation for achieving project goals and objectives.
• To plan periodic or need based surveys, case studies and interviews with direct stakeholders to assess their social and economic needs as per project goals and objectives.
• To plan community dialogues and communication activities for better dissemination of IEC.
• To plan meetings and activities for existing SHGs, agencies and groups for joint collaborations.
• To develop, maintain, and assist AIACA with daily operations and communication, with respect to group management, capacity building and training for the artisans, design intervention program, onward marketing and linkages, convergence related actions etc.
• To promote the products made by the groups among the local retailers and wholesalers in coordination with AIACA.

B. Coordination
• To establish coordination with different government stakeholders like DIC, LDM, NRLM, RSETI, Skill development etc. and other key stakeholders as well for wider promotion of project activities and their engagements.
• To ensure your participation in different departmental meetings and events for effective coordination at Block, Tehsil, District and State level.

C. Implementation
• To implement project activities on time in a qualitative manner.
• To implement different activities and events as per the direction of the line manager.
• To implement different campaigns for mass mobilization and community participation in relation to achieve program goals.
• To implement different project related training programmes with target beneficiaries.
• To organize monthly meetings, quarterly meetings with field team members.
• To implement different business activities for cooperative

D. Facilitation
• To facilitate different community based governmental departmental schemes and programmes in order to ensure benefits for artisans and community.

E. Administration
• To make a daily diary of all routine work, and event agendas.
• To compile the database of all kinds or information based on project or as per direction of line manager.
• To manage all project related documents, database and necessary information and share all things to project manager on timely basis

F. Reporting
• To prepare daily report, weekly report and monthly reports as per guidance of Project Manager.
• To prepare case studies and success stories for project reporting.
• To prepare event and activity reports as and when required.

G. Other Work
• You have to perform other project works as and when required as per the supervision of project manager
• You have to identify different sources for resource mobilization at district level through convergence with different departments and agencies.
• To assist Project Manager for expansion of programme and activity.
• To raise concerns as and when they occur, in written communication (email) to all parties involved and work collaboratively to resolve the concerned areas.
• To participate and contribute to AIACA held a performance review for assessment of the key roles and responsibilities held during the project term.
• All the activities will be undertaken in consultation with and under the supervision of the AIACA Project Manager.

Competency/ Skill sets required:
• Well versed with Governance structure of community based enterprises
• Demonstrated capacities of working with stakeholders from varied constituencies to represent their interests sensitively
• On-ground working experience as a coordinator with artisans, craft NGOs, craft producer groups, craft-based CSR organizations
• Technical and academic understanding of Indian traditional crafts sectors and craft techniques, Handloom and Handicraft work
• Computer/IT skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Forms, basic Adobe Photoshop - Mac based.
• Natural ability to connect with artisans in a rural community and work respectfully
• Multitasking ability
• Report-writing skills with attention to detail
• Team player
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving and time management skills
• Basic presentation skills
• Excited about working with craft communities across the country
• Proficient in English, Hindi and regional/state language
