Context

The UN Volunteer will be engaged the umbrella of the UNDP Good Governance Sector. Under the direct and overall supervision of the Good Governance Sector Leader, UNDP will engage the Communications Assistant who is expected to assist the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina enhancing its communication with the beneficiaries, partners and the overall public.

Task description

Under the supervision of the UNDP Good Governance Sector Leader the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: 1. Support in Communication and Advocacy Strategy: • Becomes familiar with relevant documents and materials related to the Ministry's activities and communication priorities identified by the Minister. • Provides inputs and support in preparing a comprehensive communication and advocacy strategy • Provides support in establishing monitoring and evaluation tools for communication and advocacy efforts. • Participates in formulating branding and visibility guidelines, draft key messages, and content/media plans tailored for communication with beneficiaries, stakeholders, the public, and mass media. 2. Communication and Advocacy Plan: • Provides support in creating a communication and advocacy plan outlining awareness-raising, advocacy, and communication activities, accompanied by a budget projection. • Contributes to the presentation of the structure for both the strategy and plan to the Minister and UNDP for final approval. 3. Website and Social Media Management: • Assists in reaching out to relevant stakeholders to gather content and updates on the Ministry activities, policies, and achievements, that will be used for creating inputs for the website. • Assists in regular reviews of the website content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and adherence to branding and messaging guidelines. 4. Content Development and Multimedia Production: • Assists the Ministry in organizing and moderating events aligned with the communication strategy. • Contribute to identification of communication opportunities and platforms to showcase Ministry initiatives. • Provides support in developing and coordinating the production of multimedia content, such as narratives, video stories, infographics, photo essays, etc., highlighting Ministry achievements and impactful results. • Supports the design and creation of print information products, including publications, brochures, fact sheets, and information leaflets, meeting the Ministry's communication needs. • Provides inputs for talking points, speeches, and presentations for Ministry officials, ensuring alignment with communication objectives. 5. Media Monitoring and Engagement: • Assists in the monitoring and analysis of the public agenda, providing inputs for the comprehensive daily media coverage reports and identification of opportunities for communication interventions. • Assists in improving communication with the media and capitalize on media interest in thematic areas through press conferences, interviews, and other activities.
